Mr. Tan presented on the vision for HDB first eco-precinct;

-Demonstrates passive design strategies and technologies
-Shows that innovation and sustainable development can be both practical and cost effective
-Sets a benchmark for next phase of HDB green public housing developments

Dr. Ho shared on the most successful green technology projects as follows:
-A building that was constructed almost entirely with Concrete containing Recycled Aggregate
-Recycled Concrete Aggregate (RCA) for aircraft parking apron in Changi Airport
-Processing of Asphalt Pavement Waste into Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) for use in the production of asphalt mixture
-Incinerator Bottom Ash (IBA) for road construction

Tropical and Subtropical Green Building Conference Alliance

The TSGBA conference is organized by China Green Building Council and Singapore Green Building Council, and jointly organized by Shenzhen Green Building Association and China Green Building (Hong Kong) Council closed its curtain on 10 December 2010 with a total of 300 participants. The main discussion topics cover “Natural Ventilation, Shading and Three Dimensional Greening”.
In order to formulate and discuss the current science and technology achievements within green building industry, expert technical papers related to these topics were selected and presented during the conference.
ChinaGBC handed over the TSGBA over to Singapore Green Building Council; who will be organising this event in Singapore 2011.

Site Visit from European Chamber & Indonesia GBC

The European Business Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia with their Property Working Group visited the Green Buildings arranged by Singapore Green Building Council. The Green Buildings are BCA Academy, National Library, Marina Barrage and the KTP Hospital.

Study Mission to US GreenBuild Conference 2010 - Part 2

Greenbuild is the world’s largest conference and expo dedicated to green building. A group of close to 30 delegates led by SGBC attended the US GreenBuild Conference in November 2010.
Greenbuild is the world’s largest conference dedicated to designing, building, living and working in environmentally friendly buildings. The expo features more than 1,000 exhibiting companies in more than 1,900 exhibit spaces. There are more opportunities to learn from the Greenbuild concurrent sessions to LEED and Education Provider workshops to green building tours around the city.
Besides the US GreenBuild conference, the delegates also toured some of the site visits organised by SGBC.
