Making an Impact with Carbon Footprint Assessment

Integrated Carbon Footprint Assessment Reporting Essentials (i-Care)

Singapore's 3rd Green Building Masterplan has identified the need to consider the environmental impact of buildings through its carbon footprint. With this development, the BCA Green Mark Scheme and the SGBP labelling scheme now places greater emphasis on the embodied carbon of buildings, computed from the materials and products selected for the construction and operation of a building.

This course, formulated by SGBC, BCA and SIMTech, is specially designed for the Building Industry, and provides an in-depth understanding on the carbon footprint of buildings, construction materials and products. Through a combination of classroom lectures and hands-on practice, participants will learn how to undertake a carbon footprint assessment in compliance with international standards.

Why i-Care?

Singapore's 3rd Green Building Masterplan has identified the need to consider the environmental impact of buildings through its carbon footprint.

The BCA Green Mark and SGBC Singapore Green Building Product Labelling (SGBP) scheme now places greater emphasis on the embodied carbon of buildings, computed from materials and products selected for the construction and operation of the building.

With this knowledge you will be able to compute the carbon footprint of your:

  • Building project (2 points under Green Mark)
  • Building product (Up to 1 point under Green Mark; and fulfil 1 supplementary criterion for SGBP certification)

The course will be conducted by SIMTech with the following schedule:

  • Lectures: Introduction to Carbon Footprint, Goals & Scope
  • Hands-on Workshops: CAR2ETM Toolkit
  • Assessment: Project Presentation
