To better help both building owners and energy performance contracting (EPC) firms to achieve a hassle-free energy efficiency arrangement, SGBC – after consultation with key industry stakeholders – has developed a template Energy Performance Contract for Buildings.

This Contract aims to become a standard reference document for both sides of the industry: the building owners and the EPC firms. Building owners and managing agents will have a point of reference when procuring energy efficiency retrofit or renewable energy installation works, while EPC firms can similarly use the same Contract to guide their proposals for the scope of improvement works to be performed. As all parties are now on the same page, energy efficiency works and improvements can then be carried out more swiftly and smoothly.

This Energy Performance Contract for Buildings can be used by any EPC firm, and certified EPC Firms under the Singapore Green Building Services (SGBS) certification scheme will be encouraged to make use of this Contract. It will also be applicable in the Building Retrofit Energy Efficiency Financing (BREEF) scheme administered by the BCA in due course.
