The in-person Applied Learning Workshop for the 9th Intake of the SGBC Green Mark Associate (GMA) Certification Course was held on 30 May 2025, supported by SGBC Member Temasek Polytechnic as the Delivery Partner.
Nearly 40 GMAs-to-be refreshed key green building concepts with lead trainer Ms Joy Gai, a GMAAP, who weaved in anecdotes from her personal career to drive home key learning points from the Course’s asynchronous online learning component. Participants also got the opportunity to put their knowledge to the test through a tabletop exercise to green a notional building, with learners heartily exchanging insights and perspectives with the rest of the cohort.
One of the key highlights of the workshop was a very insightful site tour to a selection of sustainability features on the Temasek Polytechnic campus, which includes the Green Mark Platinum building the class was held in (thermostats set at 25ยฐC in support of Go 25), a green roof with sunpipes as well as an underground rainwater harvesting system. The site tours were also led by TP’s own Green Mark Professionals, which made the sharing that bit more informative.
