In-Person Event
Following the success of the inaugural SGBC-OCBC Built Environment Decarbonisation Challenge held in 2024, the 2nd edition of the Challenge has been launched to continue uncovering innovative solutions to catalyse the transition of the built environment towards a low-carbon future. Join us at this Information Session to learn more about OCBC’s decarbonisation strategy, the Challenge outcomes from the 1st edition, as well as find out about the updates for the 2nd edition. This session will also feature the following topics:
- Regenerative Design shared by Atelier Ten: Learn how buildings can restore the environment through nature-based solutions, circular resource management, and human wellbeing improvement to shape healthier, more resilient spaces for people and the planet;
- Sustainable Finance: Enabling built environment’s transition to net zero shared by OCBC Global Wholesale Banking: Discover how financing can enable the acceleration of all built environment sector players to transition to net zero and how OCBC offers credible technical advisory and innovative financing solutions to help corporates and SMEs
In-Person, Instructor-led Course
Sustainability considerations have become key requirements in design and construction. The demand for low-carbon solutions has spurred radical innovation in materials and re-engineering of production processes. Central to the evaluation of building products and materials is its carbon footprint, of which the choice of quantifying carbon performance is through Environmental Product Declarations (EPD). EPDs provide a standardised way to assess and compare the environmental performance of materials and products across the lifecycle.
At this SGBC Course, participants will gain a clear understanding of EPDs, including their structure, content, methodology and preparation; as well as acquire fundamental knowledge of life cycle analysis (LCA) to evaluate environmental impacts. There will be a practical demonstration and hands-on application of how LCA can be conducted and modelled effectively with software (SimaPro).
