Advancing Low Carbon Progress through Built Environment Innovation

SGBC OCBC 20206 2

To drive the next leap in built environment sustainability, we need transformative ideas, breakthrough technologies, and innovative deployment approaches that can redefine what energy efficiency looks like in existing buildings. Towards this end, the 3rd edition of the SGBC-OCBC Built Environment Decarbonisation Challenge, organised by the Singapore Green Building Council in collaboration with SGBC Member OCBC, aims to surface built environment solutions that can not only cut emissions meaningfully but also catalyse sector wide adoption.

More than 100 industry professionals attended the Challenge’s information session held yesterday at the OCBC South auditorium and learned more about the Challenge mechanics, the updates for the latest edition as well as OCBC’s decarbonisation strategy. The audience also got to hear from Comfort Management Pte Ltd on pathways to super low energy for existing buildings as well as Singapore Institute of Technology on alternative cooling solutions.

The SGBC-OCBC Built Environment Decarbonisation Challenge is open to all companies passionate about decarbonisation, energy efficiency and sustainability in the built environment, and shortlisted solutions stand to receive funding support for pilot project implementations at selected OCBC properties.
