SGBC Learning Journey to Volvo Construction Equipment: Together towards Zero Emissions

The construction industry plays a vital role in advancing sustainability in the built environment. Electric construction machinery, in particular, plays a central role in this transition, as it presents a significant opportunity to reduce emissions and support green objectives. With zero emissions and minimal noise, these machines are well-suited for urban environments, indoor use, and environmentally sensitive areas.

On 25 July 2025, more than 20 Green Mark Professionals attended a SGBC Learning Journey organised by SGBC Member Volvo Construction Equipment. The session explored benefits such as carbon abatement and operational considerations of electric construction machines through a sharing and site tour as well as a walkaround on the electric compact excavator.

Participants also visited the Asia Uptime Service Centre, which monitors and proactively maintains machines across the region in real-time using data analytics and enables the optimisation of fleet performance, reducing unplanned downtime while advancing sustainable construction in the region.
