Stronger support and partnerships to bring urban innovations to the market

The Urban Solutions and Sustainability (USS) Congress 2026, themed “Re-inventing Cities of Tomorrow,” focused on using technology and innovation to shape Singapore’s urban future.

In his opening speech, Minister for National Development Mr. Chee Hong Tat announced three key initiatives to accelerate real-world impact in the built environment sector:

  1. USS Translation Fund: A new $40 million fund to help local companies develop, pilot, and commercialize urban sustainability solutions.
  2. SPRINT Programme: A streamlined “green lane” procurement process to halve the time for government agencies to adopt innovative research products.
  3. Built Environment AI Centre of Excellence: A new $30 million centre in partnership with SUTD to develop AI solutions for sector challenges like manpower shortages and climate change.
  4. Built Environment Decarbonisation Technology Roadmap: an industry document outlining nearly 70 technologies and strategies to help achieve Singapore’s 2030 green building targets and 2050 net-zero goal.
