With the guidance of SGBC Corporate Member TÜV SÜD, fourth run of the course provided participants with a clearer understanding of how Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) support informed material choices and strengthen carbon transparency across the built environment.
Key takeaways from the session included understanding the purpose, structure and standards underpinning EPDs, interpreting key methodological considerations, including system boundaries and lifecycle stages, comparing the carbon performance of building products using EPD data, applying EPD insights to support material selection, sustainability assessments and reporting as well as building confidence in navigating product‑level carbon data to inform low‑carbon design decisions.
