The SGBC Green Mark Professional Qualification Scheme is a national programme that serves to upskill and accord recognition to industry professionals with green building competencies in the built environment sector. As the foundational tier of this scheme, the Green Mark Associate qualification denotes a core understanding of sustainability, green building, Singapore’s environmental sustainability legislative framework and the key qualities of a green built environment.
On 28 Oct. 2024, SGBC held the first-ever virtual-format Applied Learning Workshop, one-third of the requirements to obtain the Green Mark Associate qualification. More than 50 Green Mark Associates-to-be had the opportunity to deep-dive into the Green Mark 2021 criteria, and were quizzed on green building factoids alongside built environment sustainability knowledge. Learners also actively participated in the online version of the group activity, where they proposed green retrofits to a notional building, with quite a few groups pushing for initatives or solutions that prioritised human health and wellbeing in buildings.
