New initiatives were announced on 4 Sept. 2026 to strengthen Singapore’s Built Environment (BE) capabilities and support BE professionals to deliver on Singapore’s ambitious development plans.
Following the establishment of the QS Workgroup in February, the workgroup has conducted engagements and developed recommendations around three priorities: Attracting talent into the Quantity Surveying profession, Developing and Retaining Quantity Surveying Professionals, Enhancing the Business Sustainability of Quantity Surveying Firms
In addition, the Board of Architects (BOA) and Professional Engineers Board (PEB), together with regulatory agencies, are exploring a more systematic approach to support QPs in keeping pace with evolving regulatory requirements. This could include closer monitoring of the quality of QP submissions and efforts to develop QPs’ competencies.
