This week, the global green building community gathers in London for one of the world’s largest independent climate events: London Climate Action Week 2026 (LCAW). At the centre of it all, from 21–24 June 2026, the World Green Building Council Leadership Summit convenes the international Green Building Council (GBC) network for a week of collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and celebration of global leadership.

As Singapore’s national representative to the WorldGBC, the Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC) is proud to be part of this crucial global conversation.

The Leadership Summit, held every two years, brings together GBCs from around the world to synchronise efforts and drive systemic change. Building on the success of the 2024 edition, which saw participants from over 50 nations, the 2026 Summit spotlights the actions, policies, finance, and partnerships transforming our sector.

The centrepiece of the Summit is the WorldGBC Global Solutions Forum held on 22 June 2026, a public-facing event open to professionals across the sustainability and building sectors. Held in partnership with the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) as a flagship event of London Climate Action Week, the Forum gathered over 250 delegates from more than 50 nations to tackle the defining question of our time: not whether climate solutions exist, but how quickly they can be adopted.

The agenda featured keynotes from leading voices including Lord Adair Turner (Chair of the Energy Transitions Commission), Lindsay Hooper (CEO, Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership), and Emma Fletcher (Innovation Director, Octopus Energy). The Forum also showcased proven, practical solutions already delivering impact across homes, offices, cities, and supply chains.

SGBC recognises that meaningful climate action demands collaboration across borders. Singapore’s own green building journey, from 17 certified buildings in 2005 to over 2,590 Green Mark-certified buildings today, demonstrates what is possible when industry, government, and civil society work together. Our participation at the Leadership Summit and Global Solutions Forum reflects our commitment to sharing Singapore’s experience, learning from global peers, and driving collective progress toward global climate goals.

We look forward to meaningful exchanges with our regional and international GBC counterparts, drawing inspiration from diverse contexts and best practices to strengthen our own sustainability efforts back home. As we celebrate two decades of green building excellence in Singapore, we are eager to contribute to the global dialogue in London and to bring back insights that will accelerate our journey toward a decarbonised, resilient, and sustainable built environment.
