Light’s crucial role in the built environment is often shadowed by its energy consumption and contribution to carbon emissions. However, strategic and sustainable lighting designs that prioritise functionality while minimising energy use offer great potential to promote energy efficiency while enhancing spatial comfort levels.
On 3 Oct. 2024, SGBC held a Learning Journey to the premises of SGBC Member ERCO, where experts delved deep into lighting design principles aimed at creating super-efficient spaces that prioritise human comfort and wellbeing. Along with uncovering insights on sustainable lighting practices, attendees also explored key techniques such as light hierarchy and the application of Human Centric Lighting, and had an informative time interacting with the innovative lighting solutions being showcased.
Green Mark Professionals in attendance even learned about the significance of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), hearing about ERCO’s journey to obtain EPDs for the majority of their lighting solutions.
