On 17 April 2025, nearly 30 participants joined SGBC and the U.S. GBC into exploring the world of green building certifications with the second run of the SGBC LEED Essentials Course. Led by a member of the LEED Faculty, this one-day programme unpacked the globally-recognised LEED certification, outlining its key mechanics, focus areas as well as crosswalks with the Green Mark scheme.
The course highlighted the pivotal role of LEED in driving sustainability within the built environment and aligning with ESG principles. With over 105,000 LEED-certified buildings in 185 countries, LEED provides a framework for creating healthy, energy-efficient, and cost-saving green buildings.
