This afternoon, we witnessed an electrifying showcase of decarbonisation tech at the Pitch Day for the 3rd edition of our annual Challenge call with SGBC Member OCBC. With buildings accounting for 20% of Singapore’s carbon emissions, the urgency for scalable solutions has never been clearer.
From dozens of submissions, our shortlisted innovators came with data, rigour, and real-world proof. Our expert panel of veterans from OCBC and SGBC carefully evaluated each pitch across five critical dimensions:
- Carbon/Energy Reduction (kWh) – Hard numbers mattered. We drilled into absolute kilowatt-hour savings that move the needle.
- Measurement & Verification Framework – We looked out for robust M&V plans involving third-party verification, sub-metering, and transparent baselines—because what gets measured, gets managed.
- Ease of Implementation – The best innovation is one that actually deploys. We assessed seamless integration with minimal tenant disruption or operational overhaul.
- Payback Period – Sustainability must make commercial sense. Competitive payback timelines proved green can be good for the bottom line.
- Use Cases – Track record speaks volumes. Verified case studies from previous deployments carried significant weight.
Huge thanks to OCBC for their partnership, our panel of experts, and every bold innovator who stepped onto that stage. When stakeholders align on measurable outcomes, we can fast-track our low-carbon future, one building at a time.
