Singapore Green Building Projects bag accolades at ASEAN Energy Awards 2024

The 24th ASEAN Energy Business Forum (AEBF-24) hosted an Awarding Night to announce the winners of the ASEAN Energy Awards of 2024 on Friday, 27 September 2024, in Vientiane, Lao PDR. The event is organised by the ASEAN Centre for Energy and hosted by the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM) of Lao PDR.

The ASEAN Energy Awards (AEA) stands as an esteemed honour, highlighting and celebrating excellent contributions to the energy sector across the ASEAN region. The award serves as Southeast Asia’s reputable recognition to encourage greater private sector participation and interest in ASEAN energy development. Celebrated and held in conjunction with AEBF-24, AEA 2024 showcases two diverse awards that underlines the commitment of organisations in implementing sustainable energy practices and innovation, which are Energy Efficiency & Conservation, and Renewable Energy.

This year, a total of 52 participants were selected as winners. These winners were awarded with trophies, plaques, and high-profile recognition in an award presentation ceremony that was held in conjunction with the ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM). Singapore green building projects, nominated by SGBC and BCA, achieved the following accolades:

  • Thong Chai Building – 2nd Runner Up: Energy Efficient Building Awards (Retrofitted Building)
  • Singapore Discovery Centre – Winner: Energy Efficient Building Awards (Zero Energy Building)
  • Keppel Infrastructure @ Changi – Winner: Best Practices for Green Building Awards (Small and Medium Building)
