What if construction waste could become the walls of tomorrow’s buildings? 🏗️
This afternoon, we hosted a Lunch and Learn session with SGBC Member RAK Materials Consultants Pte Ltd to explore this new approach to sustainable construction in Singapore.
Drawing on pioneering research, the session covered:
- 3D concrete printing using 100% recycled concrete fine aggregate (RCFA)
- How end-of-life concrete can be diverted from landfill and transformed into printable material
- The science behind mix design, AI-based aggregate characterisation and the challenges of achieving consistent printability with recycled materials
- Real-world case studies, including Singapore’s first on-site 3D-printed childcare centre
