This afternoon, we witnessed a critical shift in industry sentiment during the World Green Building Council Asia Pacific Regional Network’s inaugural Resilience Webinar, titled “Building Resilience to Heat”. Regional experts came together with nearly 200 attendees from across the Asia Pacific region to tackle a question that defines our era: how do we cool our cities without heating the planet?
From national approaches to managing heat stress to material innovation as well as operational strategy, the conversation went far beyond theory. We explored the hard truths of balancing urban growth with net-zero targets – and more importantly, we identified the practical, actionable pathways forward.
A big thank you to our speakers for their keen insights and generous sharing, and to our education partner, AGC Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, for making this vital exchange possible.
This is not the end of the conversation; it is the beginning of a movement. The insights captured today will directly inform a regional policy paper and upcoming workshop series. We look forward to turning these discussions into tangible change across the built environment to further build heat resilience.
